The live map, and everything that comes with your check-ins
SipMap is first a live world map of drinks: you check in, you show up on the map for as long as your drink lasts, and you see who is raising a glass elsewhere on the planet. Around the map, members get challenges, collections and small games among friends. Everything is free.
Challenges, badges and levels
Every check-in moves your challenges forward: try every drink, raise a glass in several countries, have a coffee at dawn or keep the pace. Badges unlock by themselves, in bronze, silver then gold, and some stay secret until you find them. Your level grows with your number of check-ins.
Weekly challenges
Every Monday, three new challenges await: an easy one, a medium one and a bold one, the same for the whole community. Each one earns XP. One check-in a week is enough to grow your streak, and a coffee counts too.
Tonight's challenge
Every night, a photo challenge: a gesture to make with your drink, and a code of the moment that proves the photo is fresh. The photo is checked automatically; if the analysis is unsure, members vote, and three “Cheers!” within 24 hours validate the challenge. Some nights, spots are limited.
Spots to capture
Common, rare or legendary spots appear on the map for a limited time. To capture one, check in inside its circle before it disappears, sometimes with a given drink, at a given time or with a photo. Each capture earns XP and goes into your logbook.
The passport
Your SipMap passport gets a stamp for every new city where you check in. It counts your cities, countries and continents, and your first time in a city earns you XP. Something to plan your next stop with.
Coasters
At every check-in, there is a one-in-eight chance that a coaster drops into your album: common, rare or legendary. They come in series (Quebec cities, world cities, drinks, nights, seasons). The rarest drop more often at night, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., and a city's coasters drop more often there.
Friday predictions
Every Friday, until 5 p.m., guess how many check-ins a city will have between 5 p.m. and midnight, and which drink will win the night worldwide. The closest guess wins XP. The result comes the next morning, in your bell.
The drink wheel
Can't decide? When you check in, let the wheel pick your drink. If you have what it said within the hour, the XP of that check-in is doubled. You can spin it again once, but the wheel is always right.
The bar's vibe
After your check-in, say what the vibe is like (it’s lit, chill, good music or you can talk) and whether it is busy. Your vote stays on the map for 4 hours, without your name. The map’s vibe filter then shows where things are happening tonight.
The twin glass
When someone has the same drink as you in the same minute, as far away as possible, you become twin glasses. An arc links you on the map, you both get notified and you can cheer from afar.
The 24-hour replay
The replay plays back every drink of the last 24 hours on the world map in one minute, with day and night moving across it. Watch your city light up, then share a 15-second video, just right for a story. No account needed to watch it.
Cheers!
On every drink in progress, the “Cheers!” button lets you raise a glass with that person, wherever they are. They are notified live, and the cheers you share show up in your week in review.
Rate My
Every day, a pile of members' photos to rate from 1 to 5 glasses, with XP for each rating. A photo enters the top of the week from three ratings. Only public photos are shown, and you can withdraw one photo, or all of yours, whenever you like.
Your week and your year
Every Monday, your week in review: your check-ins, your cities, your drink of the week, the cheers you shared and your streak. In December and early January, SipMap Wrapped tells your year in stories: your drink of the year, your favourite time, your city, your farthest twin glass and your passport.
Glass of water and designated driver
Between two drinks, log your glass of water: 10 XP each time, up to five per drink. Driving the gang home? Say you are the designated driver: your marker wears a steering wheel on the map, you earn 30 XP and a badge after five nights.
