Welcome to SipMap. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information.

When you use our service, we may collect the following information:

• Name and email address (via Facebook Login)
• Profile picture (if you choose to log in with Facebook)
• Geographic location (only when you create a check-in)
• Photos you choose to upload
• Drink type and drinking duration
• Mobile number (only if you turn on SMS alerts)

We use your data to:

• Show your check-ins on the public map
• Calculate statistics and the leaderboard
• Improve the user experience
• Pre-fill the check-in form when you are logged in

Your check-ins (name, location, drink type, photo) are public and visible to all SipMap users. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

If you turn on SMS alerts, we keep your mobile number and your consent only to send you the confirmation code and the check-in alerts you asked for. Your number is never shown to other members.

We never sell, rent or share your mobile number or your SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The number is only passed to our SMS provider (Microsoft Azure Communication Services) to deliver the messages. Reply STOP to any message, or remove your number in your settings, to stop receiving them.

If you choose to log in with Facebook, we only receive your name, email address and profile picture. We have no access to your other Facebook data and never post anything to your profile without your permission.

Your data is stored securely on Microsoft Azure servers in Canada. Check-ins expire automatically after 24 hours but remain in your personal history.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Ask for your data to be deleted
• Log out at any time
• Not use Facebook Login (you can use SipMap anonymously)

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
